Our story
KW Plumbing & Handyman Services was founded by Kalvin, a Caterham local who has spent his life working with his hands and with people. The KW comes from his initials, and everything the business stands for comes from the same place: personal pride in the work, and a genuine passion for getting it right.
Kalvin's trade roots go back further than most. At just 12 years old, he was out on jobs with his uncle, a self-employed plumber, learning the craft from the ground up. Over the years he worked alongside him on hundreds of projects, building real hands-on experience that no course or qualification can replicate.
His father, also a tradesman, spent years in plumbing before moving into fencing and groundworks, adding another layer to the family trade network that backs KW today.
But Kalvin didn't come straight from the tools. Before launching KW, he spent five years in event management at a large activity centre, eventually rising to Operations Manager, responsible for running a 50-acre woodland venue that welcomed thousands of visitors every weekend.
That experience shaped something most tradespeople don't have: an instinct for customer experience, logistics, communication and delivering under pressure. He brought all of it into KW.

Started learning the trade at 12 alongside his uncle. Former Operations Manager for a major outdoor events venue.
